Salaries Increase for Computer Science Majors (undergraduate)
- According to a
recent study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the
average starting salary for new computer science graduates increased by 4.1%
from last year to $53,396.
Computer science remains one of the highest-paying majors, exceeded only by
chemical engineering ($59,361),
computer engineering ($56,201),
electrical engineering ($55,292),
and mechanical engineering ($54,128).
Increased demand is the primary reason for the salary increase, with nearly
9 out of 10 employers seeing more competition for new college graduates.
